    The basics

    What is Blend'n?

Blend'n is a free app for nights out in India and Canada. It shows you what's on near you: events, and places like bars, cafés and breweries. When you get there, you check in, and you can talk to the other people in the same room under a made-up name, until you choose to show yours.

    Is Blend'n a dating app?

No. People use Blend'n for the night itself: to find something to do, and maybe meet someone there. Some are looking for friends, some for a date. You choose what you're there for, and you only ever talk one-to-one with someone when you both want to.

How does Blend'n know I'm at the event?

When you check in, the app takes one precise GPS reading and checks it against the venue's area. While you're in the room it checks again every few minutes, on your phone. About 20 minutes after you leave, or an hour after the event ends, you're checked out.

Who can see my name and photos?

In a room, nobody. You appear under a new made-up name in every room. Others can see your age, city, interests and field of work, but not your name, photos or bio. People see who you are only if you match, accept a message request, choose to reveal yourself, or let friends see you.

    Is Blend'n safe?

Blend'n is 18+ only, and you can only join a room you're physically at. Messages, posts and photos are checked automatically for safety, including by OpenAI. Organizers can mute and ban people in their rooms. You can report or block anyone, and people review every report. Read Safety before you meet anyone.

    Is Blend'n free?

Yes. Everything you need for a night out is free. Blend'n+ is optional. You buy it only in the app, through the App Store or Google Play, at the price the store shows you.

Is Blend'n on iPhone and Android?

The iPhone beta is open now on TestFlight, in India and Canada. The Android beta is coming soon.

How do I delete my Blend'n account?

In the app: Me → Settings → Delete account, then confirm. Without the app, email privacy@blendn.app from your account's address with the subject "Delete my account", and we'll delete it within 30 days. Some records are kept for a time where the law requires it. See Delete your account.

    Getting started

    • Sign up with Google, Apple or email.
    • You'll be asked your date of birth. You must be 18 or over, and we refuse anyone younger.
    • Then you set up a profile: first name, photos, interests and what you're here for. Your photos stay hidden in rooms until you choose to show them.
    • Pick your city on the Pulse. Where Blend'n isn't live yet, the app shows "Coming soon" and counts who's waiting.
    • The app asks to send notifications during setup. Change them any time in Me → Settings → Notifications.

    Finding things to do

    • The Pulse is your home screen: a map, then Featured, Happening now, and events and places near you.
    • Switch between Events and Places at the top. Search or filter by what you're into.
    • Featured is picked by the Blend'n team.
    • Tap an event to see when and where, the age limit, and who's going (as a count).
    • Save an event with the heart. Share it with the share button: your friend gets a link that opens in Blend'n.

    Checking in at an event

    1. Go to the event. The check-in area is the venue and a little around it, so the queue outside counts.
    2. Open Tonight (or the event) and hold the pass ("Hold to blend in"). With VoiceOver on, it's a plain Check in button.
    3. Your phone checks its location. If you're there, you're in, and the room opens.

    Good to know:

    • You can be checked in to one room at a time. Checking in somewhere new checks you out of the last place.
    • You're checked out about 20 minutes after you leave, or an hour after the event ends.
    • Location must be on. If you'd rather not share it, you can still browse, but you can't check in.
    • Never fake your location. It breaks the rules and can get your account suspended.

If it says you're not at the venue, see Troubleshooting.

    Going live at a place

No event on? Every bar, café, brewery and venue on Blend'n has its own room, every day.

    • Open the place and tap Go live. Choose 20, 45 or 60 minutes, free.
    • With Blend'n+, choose Stay: you stay live while you're there, up to 4 hours.
    • The place's room and everyone's made-up names reset at 6 am local time.
    • You can see who's live only by going live yourself.
    • If a public event starts at the place, the event's room takes over.

    Rooms

    • Open times. An event's room opens 24 hours before the event and closes 24 hours after.
    • Your name. In each room you get a made-up "Adjective Noun" name, new for every room.
    • What you can post. Messages and photos. You can react and reply.
    • No edit, no delete. You can't edit or delete a message after it's sent.
    • Contact details are hidden. Phone numbers, social handles and messaging links are hidden automatically.
    • Moderation. Messages, posts and photos are checked automatically for safety, including by OpenAI. A message can occasionally appear and then be hidden. If 3 of your messages are hidden within an hour, you're muted in that room for an hour.
    • The organizer (or a venue owner who has claimed the venue) can remove messages, and mute or ban people in their room.
    • Mute a room you don't want notifications from, in the room's menu. Unmute it in Settings.

    Revealing yourself

    • Revealing in a room shows your name and first photo to everyone in that room, and your full profile if they open it. You can switch back to anonymous, but people may already have seen you.
    • In a chat that started from a match, you each stay under your made-up name until you choose to reveal. A reveal in a chat can't be undone.
    • Revealing is always your choice. Nobody can make you, and asking someone to reveal or share their number is against the community guidelines.

    Matches and messages

    • Likes and matches. In a room, you can like someone. If they like you back, it's a match, and a chat opens in Banter. Likes only work between people checked in to the same event. You never see who liked you unless it's mutual. That's not for sale, on any plan.
    • Message requests. You can send a message request to someone who was checked in to the same event as you. If they accept, you can chat, using real names. If they don't, leave it.
    • Banter holds your matches, requests, and crew and Blend chats.
    • Ending a chat. Use ⋮ → Unmatch, Unmatch and report, or Block and report.

    Friends

    • Add friends by sharing your invite link (Me → Friends → invite). There's no search by name.
    • Friends see your name and photos on the friends screens.
    • In rooms, friends see only your made-up name, unless you turn on Friends can see who I am in rooms. If you do, they'll see you in a Friends here section and can message you directly.
    • Anyone signed in who opens your invite link sees your name and a photo, so share it only with people you know.

    Crews and Blends

    • A crew is a small group of friends who go out together.
    • When your crew and another crew both like each other, a Blend opens: one room for both groups, for the night.
    • Keep me anonymous even when my crew reveals. Any member can reveal the crew. You can stay anonymous yourself with this setting in the crew's screen.

    Blend'n+

Blend'n is free to use. Blend'n+ adds:

    • Stay live while you're there: past the free window, up to 4 hours;
    • Your full night history: beyond the last 3 nights.

What's never for sale, on any plan: seeing who liked you; more asks or board requests than the caps allow; seeing a venue's room without going live there; a way round the reveal; boosting yourself in someone's Grid.

Buying. Only in the app: Me → Blend'n+. It's never sold on the web. The store shows the price, in your currency, before you pay.

Night Pass is 24 hours of Blend'n+ from when you buy. It doesn't renew.

Restore purchases (new phone, reinstall): Me → Blend'n+ → Restore purchases.

    Cancelling.

    • iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Blend'n+ → Cancel. Or in Blend'n: Me → Blend'n+ → Manage subscription.
    • Android: Google Play → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Blend'n+ → Cancel.
    • Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date. You keep Blend'n+ until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your account doesn't cancel the subscription.

Refunds. Apple and Google handle refunds for store purchases. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, or in Google Play's order history. This doesn't affect your rights under consumer law in India or Canada.

    Location and privacy

    • Blend'n uses your location only while the app is open. It never tracks you in the background.
    • Nobody else sees your coordinates. Organizers see check-in times and totals, never your location.
    • Organizers, venue owners and sponsors never see your name, email, phone or photos. They see a label.
    • To stop sharing location, use your phone's settings. You can still browse, but you can't check in.
    • Full details: Privacy policy.

    Your account

    • Edit your profile: Me → Edit profile.
    • Blocked people: Me → Settings → Safety → Blocked users.
    • Who can see you online: Me → Settings → Show online status.
    • Sign out: Me → Settings → Sign out. Signing out stops notifications on that phone.
    • Delete your account: Me → Settings → Delete account. See Delete your account.

    Troubleshooting

"You're not at the venue yet" when I am.

    • Turn on Precise Location (iPhone: Settings → Blend'n → Location → Precise) and set location to While Using.
    • Step outside or near a window for a better GPS fix, wait a few seconds, and try again.
    • Big venues sometimes draw the area around the building, not the car park. If you're sure you're inside, report the event from its page: Report this event.

The room says it's closed. Rooms open 24 hours before an event and close 24 hours after.

A link says "Nothing here". The link is old or incomplete. Ask whoever shared it to send it again.

Prices didn't load. Check your connection, then try again. On Android, make sure you're signed in to Google Play.

I didn't get my verification or reset email. Check spam, and search for mail from blendn.app. Then try again from the sign-in screen.

Something else is broken. Email support (below) with your phone model and what happened. Never send your password.

    Contact us

    • In the app: Me → Settings → Contact support. It opens an email with your account ID filled in. Nothing is sent until you press Send.
    • Email: support@blendn.app.
    • Safety concern or report: use Report in the app first. For an event board post, email grievance@blendn.app.
    • Complaints (India): grievance officer Likhith Gowda, grievance@blendn.app. We acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 15 days.
    • Privacy (India and Canada): privacy@blendn.app.
    • Emergencies: call 112 (India) or 911 (Canada). We can't send help.
